Festival gates open at 11 am and close at 7 pm – opening ceremonies begin at 10:45 am and we end the day at 6:15 pm with our Finale in Song! We are open rain or shine.

  • Tickets go on sale in November – sales are announced throughout the year via the mailing list and on the website home page

  • We accept cash, Visa, Master card or Discover
  • Advance tickets can be ordered online and can be mailed or held in Will Call at the festival Front Gate. Tickets purchased online for any given Festival weekend must be purchased no later than the Thursday before that weekend.

We honor those who protect and serve our community. Discounted admission is available to all Military, Veteran, and First Responders at the ticket booth.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire is located 7 miles South of I-90 on State Route 534. There are more detailed directions on our About Us Page.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire offers parking for a small $5 fee. Handicap Parking is available near the front gate – you must have a marker present.

Yes! Your Purple Pounds or Avaloch currency is transferable from from year to year.

Yes! We offer discounted pre-season tickets in the months leading up to the festival, including special deals at selected times. These deals are only offered via the Great Lakes Medieval Faire eMail Newsletter – you can sign up on our About Us page.

Yes, pets are permitted on leashes. A Pet Registration Form must be filled out at the gate and a $5 fee per animal will be assessed. Female animals in heat are not permitted. You must clean up after your pet. The Faire has all rights to remove any pet from the faire. No animals may be taken near any animal exhibits, including the Joust and the Birds of Prey. Pets may not be left in the parking lot or in vehicles.

All coolers must be kept in your car. However, you can leave and re-enter the Faire with a handstamp.

All stage acts are paid according to what was agreed upon during their contracting. Tipping is completely voluntary and you should in no way feel you are forced to contribute. If you feel you were unfairly approached, please contact a member of Faire management.

Any weapon adornment or costume accessory must be “peace-tied” and otherwise protected so any sharp edges are covered, and so it cannot be drawn or wielded while on the grounds. All weapons will be examined at the gate. Due to the wide variety of potential weapons, each item is handled on a case-by-case basis when the patron enters the festival.

For others, the Great Lakes Medieval Faire hires for multiple seasonal positions. Applications are accepted in our office in May and June. Positions will be listed before opening. If you are hoping to work at the Faire, please note:

  • Most positions require that you be 16 years or older
  • Most positions require you to wear a Medieval period-style costume, which will be provided
  • Most positions require you to speak and conduct yourself in Medieval period dialect and manners; however, training will be provided.

This summer Northeast Ohio’s Award-Winning Theme Park will open again, as it has every summer since 1993. The Great Lakes Medieval Faire and Marketplace offers something for everyone, from mellow enchanting music performed by talented international performers to exciting interactive entertainment and the clashing and bashing of Knights on the Field of Honor, all performed on 12 stages, seated in the shade of our forest. We’re also pleased to present games of skill for the high-spirited, and for those who love to shop our festival offers high-quality, hand-crafted wares created by over a hundred different skilled artisans from across the nation.

The great escape from your mundane world begins at our stunning grand Front Gate. Stunning and picturesque landscaping and colorful pageantry throughout the shire make it more inviting and exciting than ever. The Great Lakes Medieval Faire is known for its beautiful and elaborate gardens filled with the brilliant colors and an amazing assortment of plants.

The staff at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire is eager to work with you and share all of the fun to be had at our Medieval Village, The Land of Avaloch. To best serve those members of the media who would like to visit and enjoy our entertainment venue, we ask for a written request or email at least one week prior to the date you wish to come to the park. We ask that you fax or email your request including your name, title, and your desired date of arrival, and someone from our staff will contact you to confirm your request. Your Media Kit will include our Press Release, Fact Sheet, Photos, Media Guide, General Information, What’s New?, Park Information, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement, as well as a pair of complimentary tickets for you to come and enjoy our Medieval Village.
