Weddings - Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to live in Ohio?
No, but if you live out of state your marriage license must be obtained in Ashtabula county.

What about booking the event, scheduling, and rehearsals?
We encourage you to start booking a year in advance but we can sometimes accommodate last-minute bookings. To secure your date you must pay half of you package total at the time of booking. We must have your wedding paid in full by June 1st to guarantee the date. Weddings can be held on any regular Faire day, Sundays included.

Rehearsals are generally held within the week before the wedding.

For the ceremony itself, the reception area is booked for two hours. Additional time can be purchased.

Barring an act of nature, the show will go on, rain or shine.

Will you help with ceremony and the decorations?
Our wedding co-ordinator will assist you as much as possible. To make your wedding right for you, you are welcome to write your own vows and provide your own Minister, Priest, or wedding Officiant (the wedding coordinator can also offer suggestions).

The Faire will provide basic decorations with your wedding package. You may provide additional decoration, but they must be in keeping with the Medieval theme of the Faire and approved by the coordinator.

A bridal bouquet is included with some packages; additional flowers are not. However, the Faire is beautifully landscaped and the wedding area has an abundance of lovely natural flora.

Can I provide my own food or drink? What about the wedding cake?
All food for your wedding is prepared by the Faire. For the entree, you have a choice of chicken, beef, or pork. All meals are of a medieval style and nature. Vegetarian dishes are available.

You cannot provide your own alcoholic beverages for the wedding - please contact the wedding coordinator for more information.

A cake may be provided, depending on the package you arrange. You are welcome to provide your own cake.

Do you provide wedding vendors such as photographers, entertainers, and costumers?
Entertainment and musicians can be provided, depending on your wedding package. You are welcome to provide your own music (live or by DJ) but all music and displays must be of a Medieval style. Any equipment, electronic or otherwise must be concealed and kept within the confines of the reception area. All music must be approved by the Faire staff.

The Faire does not provide a photographer, but you are welcome to provide your own photographer or videographer. Personal cameras and video cameras are also acceptable.

The Faire does not provide costumes, but we can provide contact information for costumers, specifically those that cater to wedding parties.
